What people
say about us

Below are stories directly from those who were impacted by their loved one’s membership in the Law Enforcement Benevolent Fund.

The Benevolent Fund was a tremendous help when my husband, Chris, died in the line of duty on December 31, 2012. That evening, it felt like my world had come crashing down and the rug pulled out from underneath me. We had just moved into our house eight months before and I had quit my full-time job to take care of the kids. All I could think of was, “How am I going to pay the mortgage? car payments? food? gas? utilities?” The list went on and on. “I’m now the breadwinner with nothing.” It was one of the most memorable moments when I was sat down that evening and learned of the Benevolent Fund. It was comforting to know funds would promptly be there, and we would “be okay.” I could now focus on our kids…and healing. Because the world doesn’t stop when yours does.
